Amanda is a married, mother of two girls and lives in rural North Central Florida. Although her writing career formally began while attending the University of Florida, writing short stories, papers, essay or even speeches just always seemed fairly easy.

At UF, Amanda majored in Agricultural Communications and Agronomy and later earned a Master of Agriculture. After a short stint as executive director of a commodity association, she stumbled upon her dream job -- Editor of The Peanut Grower magazine. Through this publication, she writes production and marketing articles for farmers, whom she thinks are some of the most honest and humble members of society. She also writes for Cotton Farming and focuses mainly on Southern row-crop agriculture.

Besides this work, Amanda also works with her local electric cooperative as a communications specialist. Learning about a new industry, the energy business, has been very interesting and rewarding.

As if this were not enough, Amanda has taken on the challenge of writing additional articles for Suite 101, a place that affords her the opportunity and challenge of writing about anything she desires. She looks forward to sharing information with the many readers.
